PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Kevin Anding led the Virginia track and field team at the 2010 ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton on Saturday by putting in two of the program’s all-time top-10 performances. Anding finished the day with two personal-best times in the 200m and 400m and advanced to tomorrow’s finals in both events.

Anding’s fourth-place finish of 46.84 in the 400m ranks third at UVa, while his time of 21.34 in the 200m placed him eighth at the meet and ranks ninth on the program’s all-time list.

Junior Chidi Uche also advanced to tomorrow’s finals in two events – the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles – while the Cavaliers will have junior Adams Abdulrazaaq and senior All-American Steve Delice competing in the finals of the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, respectively, tomorrow.

In the 100m hurdles, Uche finished with a season-best time of 13.85 to take the third-best time into tomorrow’s finals. She also finished with a season-best mark in the 400m hurdles, taking seventh in a time of 59.92.

Delice finished runner-up in the prelims of the 400m hurdles in 51.25 and Abdulrazaaq took seventh in the 110m hurdles in 14.24.

Virginia’s 4x100m relay team of junior Kisha Garrick, junior Kristina Chapman, sophomore Meagan Gillespie and freshman Danielle Williams automatically advanced to tomorrow’s finals by combining to finish third in 46.19.

Events will continue tomorrow at the ECAC/IC4A Championships, while other Cavaliers will head south to compete at North Carolina A&T’s one-day invitational.
