CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s season-opening football game against Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Scott Stadium will start at 6 p.m. the Atlantic Coast Conference announced today. The game will be webcast on ESPN3 (formerly ESPN360.com). The contest will mark the debut of first-year coach Mike London, who will be coaching against a Spider team that he directed during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

UVa’s road opener at Southern California on Sept. 11 had previously been announced as a 10:30 p.m. ET start. The USC game will be televised by FoxSports Net. Comcast SportsNet will carry the game live in the mid-Atlantic region.

Virginia season tickets and a mini-ticket package are on sale at this time.

Season tickets are priced at $270 for the general public and $215 for UVa faculty and staff. Specially priced upper level end zone season tickets are available for $175 (sections 518 to 522) for the general public and for $99 (sections 514 and 515) for UVa faculty and staff.

The Three-Game Power Pack features Virginia’s home football games against Florida State (Oct. 2), North Carolina (Oct. 16) and Miami (Oct. 30). The cost for the Three Game Power Pack is $135. Seating for the package will be available in the southwest upper end zone at Scott Stadium and will include sections 523, 524, 525, 526, 527 and 528.

Fans may purchase tickets online at VirginiaSports.com or by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434-924-8821 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. All ticket packages and season tickets can also be ordered in person by visiting the Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
