EUGENE, Ore. – Virginia juniors Ryan Collins and Andy Fahringer concluded their seasons Thursday on the second day of the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.

Fahringer, making his first appearance at the national meet, started the day for Virginia by finishing 18th in the javelin with a throw of 209’ 4”. Brown’s Craig Kinsley won the title, throwing 250’ 3”.

Collins, also competing in his first NCAA Outdoor meet, took 19th in the 10,000m. He finished with a time of 29:48.76, while Liberty’s Sam Chelanga won the title in 28:37.40.

Virginia will continue competition tomorrow, as three Cavaliers have advanced to their respective finals. Freshman All-American Robby Andrews and sophomore All-American Lance Roller will compete in the eight-man final of the 800m at 8:40 p.m. ET, while junior Steve Finley will compete in the 14-competitor final of the steeplechase at 9:15 p.m. ET.
