CHARLOTTESVILLE – Three Cavaliers were named to the All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis Team, conference officials announced Wednesday. Houston Barrick (Brentwood, Tenn.), Steven Eelkman Rooda (Amersfoort, The Netherlands) and Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) were among the 21 players named to the team.

Barrick earned the honor for the second consecutive year. He recently graduated with a degree in government. Barrick was the ACC Tournament MVP and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team this past year.

Rooda was honored for the first time in his career. An economics major, he went 17-6 in singles last season.

Singh was named to the team for the third consecutive year. A foreign affairs major, he went 39-5 in singles last year, earning All-ACC and All-American honors.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
