Tailgate: Sham-WOW!
Location: Shamrock Road
Bax Brats
- 15 bratwurst sausages
- 15 potato bread hot dog buns
- 2 tbsp. horseradish mustard
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 12 oz. beer
- 12 oz. water
- hot sauce to taste
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
In 6-qt. pot, caramelize onions in oil, sugar, and mustard. Add bratwursts, beer, hot sauce and water to pot, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove brats, cook onions until liquid is reduced (drain excess liquid if necessary). Set onions aside. Grill brats until brown. Serve brats in bun, top with the onions.
