CHARLOTTESVILLE – The second-ranked Virginia men’s soccer team travels to George Mason for its final preseason exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 28. Kick-off from George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va., is 7 p.m., and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia has come away victorious in both of its preseason exhibitions in 2010, defeating VCU 1-0 on Aug. 20 and VMI 4-0 on Aug. 23. Sophomore midfielder Ari Dimas (Chesapeake, Va.) has led the way offensively, scoring two goals and tallying two assists in two contests.

Sophomore forward Ahkeel Rodney (Elmont, N.Y.) has come off the bench to register points in each of the Cavaliers’ victory – assisting on the game-winning goal vs. VCU and scoring one of his own against VMI.

Sophomore forward Will Bates (Chester, Va.), who was named a Soccer America Preseason All-American on Thursday, scored a goal in the Cavaliers’ win over VMI, along with Dimas, Rodney and junior midfielder Felipe Libreros (Oldsmar, Fla.).

In goal for Virginia, Soccer America and College Soccer News Preseason All-America selection Diego Restrepo (West Palm Beach, Fla.) has not allowed a goal in either preseason contest.

Virginia is ranked No. 2 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and No. 3 by Soccer America. The Cavaliers were predicted to finish third in the ACC, according to the head coaches’ preseason poll that was released on Wednesday (Aug. 25).

George Mason has also won its two preseason exhibitions, 1-0 over Georgetown and 3-2 over Wright State.

The regular-season opens on Friday, Sept. 3, when UVa hosts UAB at 8 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium. Prior to that kick-off, Virginia Tech and St. John’s will play at Klöckner at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Virginia women’s soccer team vs. Richmond at 5:30 p.m.

The 2010 All-Soccer Reserved Season Pass (reserved seats for all home men’s and women’s games) is $90. The Men’s Soccer Reserved Season Pass is $50. General Admission All-Soccer Season Passes are also available for adults ($40), Youth/Senior ($30) and Faculty/Staff ($30).
