Farmville, VA – Virginia golfers Bruce Woodall and Cory Siegfried tied for fourth place overall at Longwood University’s Manor Intercollegiate tournament. The two Cavaliers finished at 6-over 222 competing as individuals.

Woodall had rounds of 71, 77 and 74 while Siegfried carded scores of 76, 75 and 71. Longwood’s Ross Sumner finished first at 4-under 214.

The tournament marked Woodall’s return to competitive collegiate golf after he missed all of last spring due to an ankle injury. It was the best finish at a tournament during his UVa career.

Siegfried also had his best collegiate showing. Last year he was 15th at the tournament, shooting 225. Siegfried’s final round of 71 matched his low 18-hole score as a collegiate.

Virginia opens its team play Sunday, Sept. 26 when the Cavaliers compete in The Fall Preview at Oklahoma State.
