Play Continues at UVa Fall Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Play at the UVa Fall Invitational continued Saturday at the Snyder Tennis Center, with the semifinals of singles and the quarterfinals and semifinals of doubles. The Cavaliers had three singles players and one doubles team advance to Sunday’s flight finals.

In singles flight A, the Cavaliers had three of the four semifinalists. In one semifinal, Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.) defeated teammate Hana Tomljanovic (Boca Raton, Fla.) to reach the final. She will play Sanaa Bhambri of NC State in the final, who topped Emily Fraser (Rye, N.Y.) in the other semifinal.

In Flight B, Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.) advanced to the final, as did Marjorie Baker (Washington, D.C.) in Flight C.

The doubles team of Vierra and Lindsey Hardenbergh (Fairfax Station, Va.) advanced to the Flight A final.

Play on the final day begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Center. Admission is free.
