TULSA, Okla. – Five members of the Virginia men’s tennis team will compete in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships, which begins Thursday at the Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa. Five singles players and two doubles teams will compete for the titles at the first major tournament of the season.

In the singles field of 64, two Cavaliers are seeded. Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) is the No. 6 seed and opens play against Gonzalo Escobar of Texas Tech. Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) is the No. 12 seed and will meet Sadio Doumbia of Georgia in the first round. Drew Courtney (Clifton, Va.) plays Louis Cant of Mississippi State in the first round. Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) plays Alex Musialek of Kentucky to open play. Alex Domijan (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) meets 13th-seeded Javier Garrapiz of Georgia in the first round.

In doubles, the third-seeded team of Courtney and Shabaz open play in the 32-team field against Kyle McMorrow and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan of Washington. The team of Domijan and Jenkins, who advanced to the main draw with an 8-3 win over Ugur Atalay and Erik Hannah of George Washington in the final round of qualifying on Wednesday, plays LSU’s Sebastian Carlsson and Neal Skupski in the first round.

Thursday’s schedule begins with the first two rounds of singles, followed by the first round of doubles.
