CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Danny Hultzen tossed five shutout innings and added three hits at the plate to lead the Orange to a 10-3 victory over the Blue Wednesday night in Game 3 of the Orange and Blue World Series at Davenport Field. The Orange swept the opening three-game series; the second three-game set begins at 1 p.m. Monday.

Hultzen allowed a pair of hits and three walks while striking out three in his five-inning outing. Blue starter Kyle Crockett allowed five runs (four earned) and six hits in four innings.

John Hicks hit a three-run home run for the Blue. Steven Proscia and Corey Hunt each had two hits and two RBI for the Orange, which finished with a dozen hits.

The Orange jumped out quickly on Crockett, scoring five runs in the first inning while batting around. Colin Harrington led off with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch and advanced to third when Keith Werman reached on a throwing error. Hultzen drove Harrington in with a single to left, and Proscia followed with a run-scoring single. Tyler Biddix then singled to score Hultzen, with Proscia also scoring on the play. Kenny Swab then singled to plate Biddix and give the Orange a commanding 5-0 lead.

The Orange tacked on a pair of runs in the fifth off Chad O’Connor on an RBI double from Proscia and a two-out single from Hunt. The lead ballooned to 10-0 in the seventh as Hunt notched his second RBI single and two more runs came in on an error.

The Blue broke through in the ninth inning as Derek Justice and John Barr led off with back-to-back singles. One out later, Hicks homered to left field.
