Cavaliers Move up to Second Place at The Ridges

Jonesboro, Tenn. – The 25th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team turned in Saturday’s best score to move up to second place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges. The Cavaliers combined to shoot 10-under 278 for a two-day total of 575. Kent State remains the tournament leader at 571. UNC Wilmington is three shots behind UVa at 578.
The Cavaliers were led the in the second round by freshman Ben Rusch who turned in his best score of the season shooting 3-under 69. He enters the final round in sixth place at 3-under 141. Amory Davis carded a 2-under 70 and is eighth overall at 2-under 142.
Will Collins moved up to 18th place after finishing at 1-under 71 for a 36-hole total of 146. Bruce Woodall turned in the best score of his career, shooting 4-under 68 to move up to 29th place at 148. Ben Kohles shot 72 and is 41st at 150.
Kent State’s Mackenzie Hughes and Missouri’s Jace Long lead the tournament at 6-under 138.
