CHARLOTTESVILLE – After scoring the game-winning goal in overtime against Virginia Tech, Cavalier junior defender Greg Monaco (Virginia Beach, Va.) has been named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s National Team of the Week.

Monaco scored his first goal of the 2010 season in the first overtime period against the Hokies to lift UVa to a 2-1 victory. On an assist from Ahkeel Rodney (Elmont, N.Y.), Monaco finished to the lower right of the goal to provide the golden goal for UVa on Friday (Oct. 15).

Monaco was named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List for the 2010 season and is a team captain for the Cavaliers.

Virginia is back in action on Friday, Oct. 22 at Boston College. Kick-off is 7 p.m.
