Virginia Hosts ITA Atlantic Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia men’s tennis team will host the 2010 ITA Atlantic Regional this week at the Snyder Tennis Center. The singles and doubles champions of the event qualify for the 2010 ITA National Indoor Championships next month in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

The tournament features a 128-player singles draw and the 64-team doubles draw. The Atlantic Region is comprised of schools from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Last year, Virginia’s Jarmere Jenkins won the singles title, while the Cavalier duo of Sanam Singh and Houston Barrick won the doubles title.

Admission to the tournament is free.
