CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The ACC announced today junior fullback Terence Fells-Danzer has been named the league’s Specialist of the Week following Virginia’s non-conference triumph over Eastern Michigan, 48-21, on Saturday at Scott Stadium.

Fells-Danzer (Culpeper, Va.) scored his first two career touchdowns in the victory. In the third quarter, after EMU had scored on a 53-yard run to close the score to 24-21, the Eagles decided to short kick to keep the ball away from the ACC’s leading kickoff returner, Raynard Horne. The short kick came to Fells-Danzer, and he returned it 70 yards untouched for a score that started a 24-0 run by the Cavaliers. It was the second-shortest kickoff return for a TD in Virginia history.

Earlier in the game Fells-Danzer, who played linebacker his first two years at Virginia, recorded the first receiving touchdown of his career. Fells-Danzer has already been honored as the CollegeFootballPerformance.com national kickoff returner of the week.

Fells-Danzer becomes the third Cavalier to earn a weekly honor by the ACC and the first since week two. Joe Torchia was named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following the USC game, following Oday Aboushi, who was named Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 7.

Virginia returns to action on Saturday when the No. 22 Miami Hurricanes invade Scott Stadium. Kickoff is set for Noon and will be televised on ESPN.
