Alpharetta, GA – The 19th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team is tied with ACC rival Duke for sixth place after 36 holes of play at the U.S. Collegiate Championships taking place at The Golf Club of Georgia. UVa shot 5-over 293 for a two-day total of 582. Georgia Tech, the host school, leads the field at 556. A total of eight teams in the field are ranked in the current Golfstat top-25 poll.

Play was delayed several hours Tuesday due to inclement weather.

UVa’s Ben Kohles shot 2-under 70 Monday to climb up to 14th place on the leaderboard at 1-over 145. Bruce Woodall is also in 14th place after shooting 74 during the second round. Mac McLaughlin posted a 75 and dropped back to 23rd at 146. Amory Davis is 29th at 147 and Will Collins is 40th at 149. Davis shot 74 Monday while Collins carded a 75.

Georgia Tech’s James White continues to lead the field. He shot 2-under 70 and has a two-day total of 12-under 132.

The final round of the tournament will take place Tuesday. Live scoring of the event is online at Golfstat.com. Virginia, playing with UCLA and California, will tee off at 11:40 a.m. during the final round.
