Charlottesville, VA – There will be a number of promotional activities for fans to enjoy before and during Virginia’s home football game against Miami on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Scott Stadium. Kickoff for the game is noon.

Cavalier Fan Fest at the Aquatics and Fitness Center, presented by Verizon, will open at 9 a.m. Cavalier Fan Fest features inflatable games, a target toss area, face painting, and more. A Mountain Dew Diet Dew sampling and interactive area will open at 10 a.m. in the grass area adjacent to the O-Hill Dining Hall. Fans will have an opportunity to sample eight new possible Diet Dew flavors and vote for the one they think should be produced for distribution. Visitors to the area may also have their face painted, create a rally card, and receive free samples of Diet Dew and complimentary t-shirts. Nashville songwriter and recording artist Bridgette Tatum will perform in the same area from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday. Tatum’s song “LOUD” is the Atlantic Coast Conference’s 2010 football season theme song.
Admission to all pre-game events Saturday is free.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Saturday’s game. One hundred dollar gift cards will be given to four fans selected by the ‘Hoo Vision cameras as winners of the costume contest.

Former Cavalier punter Will Brice will have his jersey retired in a ceremony at the start of halftime Saturday. Brice starred at Virginia from 1993-1996. He was an All-ACC selection each of his four years at UVa and was a first-team All-American in 1995.

The 2010 ACC champion men’s lacrosse team will be recognized between the first and second quarters of Saturday’s game.
