Buenos Aires – Virginia freshman golfer Ben Rusch helped Switzerland to a tie for 11th place at the World Amateur Team Championships that concluded today in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Swiss squad shot 12-over 442 to finish 19 strokes behind first-place France. The field for this year’s event included three-man teams from 69 teams.

Rusch carded rounds of 5-over 77 during the first round, 2-over 74 during the second 18 holes and led he Swiss team with a 1-over 73 during the final round. He birdied five of his final six holes during the tournament.

This fall Rusch appeared in three tournaments for Virginia and finished with a 73.11 stroke average after nine rounds. He was second overall at The Ridges, shooting 6-under 210, in his last fall appearance.
