CHARLOTTESVILLE — Play continues Tuesday at the Virginia National Bank Tennis Championships at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. Two current members of the Virginia men’s tennis team and one former Cavalier All-American are in action on Tuesday at the ATP Challenger Tour event. Michael Shabaz, Alex Domijan and 2007 and 2008 NCAA Champion Somdev Devvarman take the court for their first round matches.

Shabaz qualified for the main draw on Monday with a 7-5, 6-2 win over former North Carolina All-American Nick Monroe in the final round of qualifying. He will play Giovanni Lapentti of Ecuador in the first round of the main draw.

Domijan, who received a wild card into the main draw, meets qualifier Yuki Bhambri of India in the first round. Bhambri is a former No. 1 ranked junior and won the 2009 junior Australian Open.

Devvarman is the tournament’s No. 2 seed and will open play Tuesday against Alex Bogomolov in Tuesday’s featured match.

Defending champion Kevin Kim and top seed Taylor Dent are also on Tuesday’s schedule. Click here for complete order of play.

In other action Monday, Virginia alumnus Teddy Angelinos won an all-Cavalier first round matchup against sophomore Jarmere Jenkins. Fellow alumnus Treat Huey fell in his first round match to former Vanderbilt All-American Bobby Reynolds.

Tickets for the tournament are $10 daily for Boar’s Head Sports Club members and $15 daily for non-members.
