No. 10 Virginia Hosts Campbell Tuesday on Senior Night

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia hosts Campbell on Tuesday night (Nov. 2) at 7 p.m., in its last home contest of the 2010 regular season. Live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Five members of the Virginia soccer program will be honored prior to kick-off as part of Senior Night. As a class, T.J. Cyrus (Virginia Beach, Va.), Greg Monaco (Virginia Beach, Va.), Diego Restrepo (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Jimmy Simpson (Warrenton, Va.) and Mike Volk (Bear, Del.) have won more than 50 matches including the 2009 NCAA and ACC Championships.

Virginia (9-3-3, 2-3-2 ACC) is coming off a 2-0 setback against third-ranked Maryland on Friday night (Oct. 29).

Against non-conference opponents, the Cavaliers have a 20-match unbeaten streak dating back to the 2008 NCAA Tournament. This season against non-conference opponents, Virginia holds a 7-0-1 record.

Ten different Cavaliers have scored goals for the UVa offense this season, with Brian Ownby (Glen Allen, Va.) leading the way with seven goals and two assists. Will Bates (Chester, Va.) returned to the line-up against Maryland and ranks second on the team with six goals and three assists.

Defensively for Virginia, goalkeeper Diego Restrepo (West Palm Beach, Fla.) has made all 15 starts for the Cavaliers while posting seven shutouts and a 0.64 goals-against average.

Campbell (6-7-4, 4-5 Atlantic Sun) is coming off a 2-1 loss to Lipscomb on Oct. 30. Khalil Johnson and Keegan Terry lead the squad with five goals apiece. In goal for the Camels, Ryan Amons has made 15 starts and allowed 17 goals with six shutouts.

Virginia and Campbell have met once before in men’s soccer action – a 2-1 Cavalier victory in Charlottesville during the 2007 regular season.

Up next for Virginia is the regular-season finale at NC State on Saturday (Nov. 6). Kick-off is 7 p.m.

Seedings and match-ups for the 2010 ACC Tournament (Nov. 10-14 in Cary, N.C.) will be announced on Monday, Nov. 9.
