CHARLOTTESVILLE – Cavalier junior midfielder Hunter Jumper (Plano, Texas) has been named to the 2010 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN Men’s Soccer Academic All-District second team. The teams were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Jumper has made 15 starts this season as a midfielder. He holds a 3.70 cumulative grade point average and is a psychology major. Jumper has twice been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team (2008 and 2009).

Jumper was a member of the 2009 ACC All-Tournament Team after Virginia won the 2009 title. The Cavaliers also won the 2009 NCAA Championship and Jumper had a goal and tied for the team-lead with four assists that year.

He is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) at Virginia.

For his career, Jumper has scored two goals and added nine assists.

Nominations and voting for the team was conducted by members of CoSIDA. There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs).

To be nominated, student-athletes were required to have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) in both undergrad and graduate work, reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and completed at least one academic year at their institution.
