CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior Scot Robison collected Atlantic Coast Conference men’s performer of the week honors, the league office announced Tuesday. It is the fifth career accolade for Robison, who helped the Cavaliers to a 156-136 defeat of Navy on Friday afternoon.
Robison anchored the 200 medley relay team to a first-place finish in the opening event of the meet. He teamed up with Matt Murray, Taylor Grey and Peter Geissinger to finish in 1:31.75.
Robison then nabbed NCAA ‘B’ cuts in his victories in the 50 (20.14) and 100 (44.13) freestyle events. In the 100 freestyle, Robison led the way for a 1-2-3 Virginia finish, with Matt McLean and David Karasek placing second and third, respectively.
The Charlotte, N.C., native swam the final relay – the 400 freestyle relay – with Geissinger and McLean. The last leg of the relay was left empty in memory of former Cavalier All-American Fran Crippen, who passed away Oct. 23.
Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to the Aquatic and Fitness Center Nov. 12-13 for a two-day tri-meet with Virginia Tech and Princeton.
