Fuccillo and Teltumbde Fall in ITA Indoor Opener

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. — The Virginia women’s doubles team of Maria Fuccillo and Rashmi Teltumbde opened play at the 2010 ITA National Indoor Championships Thursday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Cavalier duo, who qualified for the tournament as the ITA Atlantic Regional champions, fell in their first round match 8-1 to third-seeded Josipa Bek and Keri Wong of Clemson.

Backdraw play will begin on Friday at the tournament, which features the top men’s and women’s players from around the nation.
