CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia women’s basketball team continues a three-game homestand by hosting Radford on Monday (Dec. 6). Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and live statistics will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

The game will be broadcast over the airwaves on WINA 1070 AM in the Charlottesville area, with Jay James and Larry Johnson calling the action. That broadcast is available on the Internet through VirginiaSports.com with a subscription to V Pass.

Virginia (5-4) is coming off a 63-54 victory over Drexel on Saturday night. Chelsea Shine (Wayne, Pa.) paced the Cavaliers with 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Cavaliers’ leading scorer through nine games is junior guard Ariana Moorer (Woodbridge, Va.), who averages 11.6 points per game. Shine ranks second on the team with 10.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

Through nine games, Virginia is out-rebounding opponents, 367-311. The Cavaliers are 5-0 when out-rebounding opponents this season.

Radford is 2-4 this season after most recently falling at Davidson, 71-62, on Dec. 4. The Highlanders are led by Da’Naria Spencer, who averages 14.8 points per game.

Virginia trails the all-time series with Radford, 7-5, but the teams have only met four times since 1980. In those four games, Virginia holds a 4-0 record.

Following Monday’s game, Virginia hosts UMBC on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.
