CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.
– The Virginia wrestling team returns to dual-meet action for the first time in three weeks on Saturday when it travels to Buies Creek, N.C., for a 1 p.m. match at Campbell.

The Cavaliers are ranked 24th nationally this week by InterMat. UVa is 7-2 in duals this season, with their lone losses coming Nov. 27 at the Northeast Duals to Lehigh (currently No. 12) and Pittsburgh (currently No. 17). UVa also owns strong dual wins over Kent State (currently No. 19) and Edinboro.

Five Cavaliers are ranked amongst the individual top 25 of the respective weight classes – No. 19 Matt Snyder (R-So., Lewistown, Pa.) at 125 pounds, No. 16 Nick Nelson (R-Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) at 141, No. 2 Chris Henrich (Sr., Lansdale, Pa.) at 174, No. 19 Jon Fausey (R-Fr., Dalmatia, Pa.) at 184 and No. 17 Mike Salopek (R-So., North Huntingdon, Pa.) at 197.

Henrich will look to continue his pursuit of the all-time UVa wins record this weekend. At 9-0 this season, Henrich now has recorded 110 career victories and ranks fourth in UVa history. With a win Saturday Henrich would move into a tie for third place on the UVa career wins ledger. Ironically, the current No. 3, Rocco Caponi, will be on the opposing sideline Saturday. Caponi is in his first year as a Campbell assistant coach and was a three-time ACC champion while wrestling for Virginia.

Campbell is 0-2 in duals this season after dropping a 38-3 decision at Liberty on Dec. 11. The Cavaliers and Camels wrestled last year in Charlottesville, with Virginia notching a 36-6 victory. UVa has won each of the two previous meetings.

Virginia will break for the holidays next week before returning the following week to compete Dec. 29 and 30 in the Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, N.C.
