CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s lacrosse road contest at Syracuse has been moved up two days to Friday, March 4 and will be televised on ESPNU at 6 p.m. The game was original scheduled for Sunday, March 6. The televised contest gives UVa six regular season games to be televised by a member of the ESPN Family of Networks.

UVa’s last visit to the Carrier Dome in 2009 was a historic one, as the Cavaliers won 13-12 to become the first team to ever win three-consecutive games at the Dome against the Orange. Shamel Bratton led the way in 2009 for UVa, setting his career standard with four goals. Virginia will try to extend a streak that also features wins in 2003 and 2005 at the Dome.

Virginia owns a 14-12 all-time record against the Orange, including a 4-3 mark at Syracuse. UVa has won seven of the last eight meetings with Syracuse, including six-straight regular season contests, including an 11-10 win in Charlottesville in 2010. The past two seasons the series has featured a regular season meeting where the Orange were ranked No. 1 and the Cavaliers were ranked No. 2.
