Virginia Tennis Teams to Hold Meet the Teams Night

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s and women’s tennis teams will host a Meet the Teams Night on Tuesday, January 11 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The event will include exhibition matches and tennis clinics with the teams.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with an hour clinic for members of the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The clinic will include on-court activities such as a fast-serve contest, hitting targets for prizes and a fast-paced doubles games. Cavalier players will also be autographing UVa T-shirts, hats and wrist bands.

At 7 p.m., the public is welcome as the Cavaliers will play a Davis Cup style exhibition. Two co-ed UVa teams will square off in singles and mixed doubles.

From 8-9 p.m., the team will continue the earlier clinic and on-court activities for the general public. In addition, a kid’s clinic will be held from 6:30-8 p.m.

Admission for the event is free, but space in the 8 p.m. clinic and kid’s clinic is limited. To sign up for the clinics, email mtennis@virginia.edu by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 7.
