CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – For the fourth time this season, senior Matt McLean and sophomore Lauren Perdue have been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Performers of the week. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday.

McLean, a native of Sterling, Va., won both the 200 (1:37.07, ‘B’) and 500 freestyle (4:28.60) events in Virginia’s 156-144 loss at 15th-ranked Tennessee on Saturday. He also took third in the 100 freestyle and led off the 400 free relay, guiding the squad to a second-place finish with a time of 1:31.53.

McLean was also named the men’s performer of the week on Nov. 16, Nov. 23 and Dec. 7.

Perdue took first place in three events as the Cavalier women suffered a 166.5-132.5 setback to No. 12 Tennessee. Her winning times of 22.70 in the 50 freestyle, 49.51 in the 100 freestyle and 1:46.91 in the 200 freestyle were each NCAA ‘B’ cuts. The Greenville, N.C., native also led off UVa’s 400 free relay that finished with a ‘B’ time of 3:22.18, good for second place.

Perdue was previously selected as the women’s performer of the week on Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 7.

Both Cavalier squads are back in action Jan. 22 at home against North Carolina.
