Everrett Gathron
Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Everrett Gathron joined Virginia in August 2010 as an assistant strength & conditioning coach. His responsibilities include program design an implementation for the men’s lacrosse, wrestling, rowing and women’s tennis programs. He also assists with the UVa football program.

Before joining the UVa staff, Gathron served as the director of strength & conditioning for Texas Pan-American from 2009-2010. While with the Broncs he was responsible for the design and utilization of all varsity athletics’ strength & conditioning programs. Prior to his appointment at UTPA, Gathron held the position of assistant strengeth & conditioning coach at SMU.

Gathron earned his bachelor degree in health promotion and fitness from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He then attained his master’s degree in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio, while he served as a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach for the Bobcats.

As a competitive weightlifter, Gathron has qualified for and competed in various USA Weightlifting events.

A native of Colbert, Okla., Gathron and his wife, Heather, currently reside in Waynesboro.
