CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams head to Pittsburgh for a 12 p.m. dual meet with the Panthers on Saturday. Diving events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. from Trees Pool. It is one of two dual meets remaining for UVa on the 2010-11 schedule. Live results will be linked on VirginiaSports.com.

“We are down to the final two dual meets and there is a lot of intra-squad competition for the travel roster to the ACC Championships,” Virginia head coach Mark Bernardino said. “There are a couple of opportunities left for them to prove their value to the team.”

Both Cavalier squads are coming off a solid weekend at home in which they picked up conference dual meet victories over North Carolina and Duke. The 10th-ranked men are 6-1 in dual meets this season while the No. 11 women hold a 4-2 mark.

The Pitt women are 4-1 in dual meets on the year with their only loss coming at the hands of Louisville, 190-109. The Panther men are 2-4 on the year.

“We will be competing against what has historically been the most storied BIG EAST swimming program,” Bernardino said of Pitt. “It’s been a traditional rivalry for us for over a decade now and we enjoy competing against the Pitt athletes. They are a well-coached team.”

Last season in Charlottesville, the Cavalier women earned a 176-121 win while the men’s squad downed the Panthers 164-124.
