CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling team will play host to Princeton in a 1 p.m. dual Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium. UVa was originally scheduled to also wrestle Rutgers at 6 p.m. Friday, but that match was cancelled because of the East Coast snowstorm which will prevent the Scarlet Knights from arriving in Charlottesville in time for the match.

Several promotions which were originally scheduled for Friday night have been moved to Saturday. There will be free Domino’s Pizza and Pepsi available for the first 150 fans in attendance. There also will be free rally towels provided to the first 500 fans in attendance. At intermission, UVa will honor the program’s coaching lineage in a special ceremony.

Virginia is 14-5 (2-0 ACC) in dual action this season after picking up a 28-6 victory at North Carolina last Friday. Matt Snyder (R-So., Lewistown, Pa.) and Chris Henrich (Sr., Lansdale, Pa.) each recorded bonus-point wins for the Cavaliers at 125 and 174 pounds, respectively.

Virginia has three wrestlers in the latest InterMat individual national rankings – Henrich (No. 4 at 174), No. 19 Jon Fausey (R-Fr., Dalmatia, Pa.) at 184 and No. 19 Mike Salopek (R-So., North Huntingdon, Pa.) at 197. In addition, Snyder is ranked No. 18 at 125 pounds in the latest Amateur Wrestling News rankings.

Princeton is 3-6 in dual matches this season after earning a 34-6 victory over Franklin & Marshall last Saturday. The Tigers are paced by 125-pounder Garrett Frey, who is ranked No. 14 nationally by InterMat and has 21 wins this season.

Virginia and Princeton squared off for the first time ever last season in Princeton, N.J., with the Cavaliers picking up a 42-0 win.

UVa returns to ACC competition next Saturday (Feb. 5) when it travels to Virginia Tech for a 7 p.m. bout.
