CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia track and field team heads to Blacksburg, Va., for the third time this season to compete in the VT Elite Meet. The competition is set to begin at 5 p.m., on Friday and at 11 a.m., on Saturday in Rector Field House. Live results can be found at VirginiaSports.com.

Virginia heads to Virginia Tech with four top-15 performances in the NCAA so far this season, while the Cavaliers also lead the ACC in five events.

Senior Adams Abdulrazaaq tops the ACC and is third nationally with a school-record time of 7.75 in the 60m hurdles, while Virginia’s defending ACC Championship distance medley relays also lead the league this year. The women’s team of freshman Vanessa Fabrizio, junior Jenni Weatherly, redshirt freshman Colette Gnade and redshirt senior Stephanie Garcia are ranked third nationally with their time of 11:21.19 from the Hokie Invitational. The men’s squad of redshirt freshman Taylor Gilland, freshman Aaron Sheppard, freshman Drew Paisley and junior Patrick Todd combined for a time of 9:49.30 at the Hokie Invitational and rank eighth nationally.

Rounding out the Cavaliers with top-15 marks in the NCAA is senior Marcus Robinson. Sitting 11th nationally, Robinson leaped 51′ 9.75″ at the Hokie Invitational – the top jump in the ACC this year.

Redshirt junior Emil Heineking also leads the league this season, holding the fastest mile time. Heineking’s 4:05.83 performance from the Hokie Invite ranks 34th in the nation.

Following the meet, the Cavaliers will split up for two different competitions next weekend. Virginia will head to Washington’s Husky Classic on Feb. 11-12 or New York City’s Armory on Feb. 12.
