CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams conclude the dual meet portion of the 2010-11 schedule Saturday at NC State. Diving events will begin at 9:20 a.m., with swimming events slated to commence at 11 a.m. at the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center.

“This meet is the last opportunity for us to try and determine the right 18 people to take to each respective ACC Championship meet,” Virginia head coach Mark Bernardino said. “With a team as deep as we are, it’s not easy to make this decision – we are trying our best to put the right 18 people either in the pool or on the boards so we can maximize our opportunities.

“It’s been longer than we would like since we have competed against NC State,” Bernardino continued. “We are excited to go down to Raleigh and compete and we are excited for our athletes from the state of North Carolina to compete in their home state.”

The 10th-ranked Virginia men are 7-1 in dual meets and 2-0 in the ACC this season, with wins over North Carolina and Duke. Most recently, the Cavaliers earned a victory at Pittsburgh last weekend.

The No. 11 Cavalier women are 5-2 in dual meets on the year, also with a 2-0 standing in league meets. The Virginia women also posted a win at Pittsburgh last Saturday.

On the season, the NC State men are 6-2 in dual meets and 3-2 against ACC foes. The women are 7-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

NC State sophomore Brandon Kingston claimed five individual titles last weekend en route to being named the league’s performer of the week. The Wolfpack fell to the rival Tar Heels but claimed a win over Old Dominion last weekend and Brandon collected wins in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle in both meets.
