CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 8 Virginia women’s tennis team will play a pair of matches against in-state rivals this weekend. The Cavaliers visit No. 47 William & Mary on Saturday at 11 a.m. before returning home to host No. 68 Virginia Tech on Sunday at noon.

The Cavaliers (10-2) are off to the best start in school history and their current No. 8 ranking is the highest in school history. Last week they finished runner-up at the Blue Gray Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala., defeating DePaul and Ohio State before falling to Notre Dame in the final.

Saturday’s match at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center in Williamsburg is the Cavaliers’ final non-conference match of the season. It will be played indoors regardless of the weather.

Sunday’s match, the Cavaliers’ ACC opener, will now begin at noon, a change from the original schedule. The match will be played outdoors at the Snyder Tennis Center, weather permitting. Fans should check VirginiaSports.com for the latest information on the location of the match. Cavman’s Crew Day, a clinic and festivities for youth, scheduled for prior to Sunday’s match has been postponed. It will be rescheduled for a match later in the season.

Admission to all home Virginia tennis matches is free.
