Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia football team will play its Orange-Blue spring football game Saturday, April 2 at Scott Stadium following the UVa men’s lacrosse team’s game against Maryland that starts at noon.

“This should be a very exciting afternoon at Scott Stadium for our fans and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Virginia coach Mike London. “We want to do our part to make it a great day, so we are planning to play a game format and not just hold a scrimmage. I think that’s what our fans want and I think the players enjoy the competition you get from having a game. We will name our captains and recognize the players who have achieved in the classroom and in the community. I promise we’ll have some fun out there as well. I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

The football team will take the field approximately five minutes after the conclusion of the men’s lacrosse team’s game. The football team’s Orange-Blue spring game will begin after a warm-up period that will last approximately 35 minutes.

Scott Stadium’s East, West, and South lots and the North D lot off Alderman Road will be available for free parking starting at 8 a.m. on April 2. Free public parking will also be available in the Emmet / Ivy Parking Garage and University Hall parking lots. Hourly rates will apply at the Central Grounds Garage. Scott Stadium’s gates will open at 11 a.m.

Fan-friendly activities will be set-up in Scott Stadium’s Pergola Plaza, including inflatable games, face-painting, a balloon artist, and more. Following the Orange-Blue game, there will be a brief autograph session with the players on the field.

Authentic game-worn home “blue” football jerseys from the years 2001 to 2006 will be on sale. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase jerseys from such popular players at Heath Miller, Matt Schaub, Chris Long, D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Marques Hagans. All jerseys are $75 and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Methods of payment include cash and credit cards. No checks. The jerseys will be sold behind the scoreboard on the open end of Scott Stadium. Gates will open at 11 a.m. for the jersey sale.

Suites at Scott Stadium are available to be leased for the day for $1,250. For more information on this opportunity, click here .
