Cavaliers Finish 10th at Hootie at Bulls Bay

Awendaw, SC – The 16th-ranked Virginia men’s golf team tied for 10th place at The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, S.C. The Cavaliers shot 7-over 291 Tuesday for a 54-hole total of 25-over 877. LSU, ranked No. 12, took the team title by one shot finishing at 3-under 849. Augusta State, ranked sixth, was second at 850.

Ben Kohles led Virginia with an 11th-place finish at even par 213. He shot 2-under 69 for the second consecutive day to wrap up the tournament. Kohles opened with a 4-over 75. It marked the sixth time Kohles has led UVa in scoring in nine tournaments this season.

Will Collins was 24th at 3-over 216. He shot even par 71 Tuesday. Cole Willcox was 47th at 9-over 222 including a 74 during the final round. Amory Davis finished in 57th place at 227 and Ben Rusch was 73rd at 235.

LSU’s Andrew Loupe tied NC State’s Mitchell Sutton for first place at 6-under 207.

The Cavaliers return to play April 8-9 when they compete at the River Landing Invitational in Wallace, N.C.
