Athens, GA – The seventh-ranked Virginia women’s golf team is in seventh place after 36 holes of play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the University of Georgia Golf Club. Virginia shot 8-over 296 on Saturday for a two-day total of 14-over 590. Alabama leads the field at 1-over 577. Purdue is second at 581.

The tournament is using a best ball format with all five competitors from each school playing together as opposed to seeded players from three or four teams playing in groups. Traditional stroke play scoring is being used to determine an individual champion.
