Charlottesville, VA – Virginia golfers Will Collins (Salisbury, N.C.) and Ben Kohles (Cary, N.C.) have been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America’s All-East Region team for the second consecutive season. Collins and Kohles helped Virginia to an eighth-place finish at the NCAA East Regional and the team was ranked in the top-20 most of the season.

Kohles, a junior, led UVa with a 71.92 stroke average this year. He won two tournaments and was UVa’s top scorer in seven events. Kohles shot par or better during 21 of his 38 rounds this year. An All-ACC selection, he was named the league’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Collins, a senior, was second on the team with a 72.84 stroke average. He led the Cavaliers at the NCAA East Regional with a 14th-place finish. He was also UVa’s top finisher at the River Landing Intercollegiate, placing ninth.

Both players posted season best scores of 7-under 65 during the year. Kohles’ 10-under 206 at the John Burns Intercollegiate was the low tournament score for the year among all UVa players.
