CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia has advanced to the 2011 NCAA College World Series to be played June 18-29 at the new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. A limited number of tickets for the CWS will be available for purchase by Virginia fans.

The College World Series features an initial round of double-elimination play within two pools of four teams each. The winners of each pool advance to play in the finals series, which is a best two-out-of-three competition.

Reserved tickets go on sale June 14 to Virginia Athletics Foundation donors as well as UVa season ticket holders. If tickets remain available, a public sale will be held June 15-16; fans must have an currently existing Virginia athletics ticket office or donor account in order to purchase tickets. Donors and season ticket holders can log in here to access their accounts.

All team allotments are reserved seat tickets and are $28 each for the opening round of games, to be played June 18-25. Reserved tickets for the CWS Finals, to be played June 27-29, are $33 each. A $5 per order charge will apply.

Customers placing an order commit to the purchase of tickets for all games in which Virginia participates. Initially, customers only will be charged for the first two guaranteed games and then automatically for each future game. A customer’s credit card will be charged for tickets for each subsequent game in which Virginia plays after the first two games. via billing plan. Tickets must be picked up by the customer prior to each game, either at the pre-game hotel pickup or at the Virginia window at TD Ameritrade Park.

Team seating allotments will be in the areas directly behind the UVa team dugout and down the line. The side of the field on which the seats are located will change throughout the tournament depending on the team’s dugout location.

Seating in Virginia’s block of tickets for each game will be done in the following order: baseball team allocation, Virginia Athletics Foundation donors according to priority point totals, 2011 Virginia baseball season ticket holders, all other purchasers.

The days and times of the first four College World Series games will be announced by the NCAA after the completion of the super regional round.
