Will Collins Repeats on ACC All-Academic Golf Team

Greensboro, NC – For the second year in a row Virginia men’s golfer Will Collins (Salisbury, N.C.) have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team as announced by the ACC today. Collins was a senior during the 2010-11 season and a Kinesiology major.
A first-team All-ACC selection, Collins played in all 13 matches during his senior season. He led UVa with a 14th-place finish at the NCAA East Regional. He was second on the team with a 72.84 stroke average and earned All-East Region honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
He was one of 36 student-athletes to receive the ACC’s Weaver-James-Corrigan Scholarship award this spring. Collins was one of four players on the ACC All-Academic team who also earned All-ACC honors this season.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintain a cumulative 3.00 average during his academic career.
