CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia announced on Monday its 2011 schedule for the men’s and women’s cross country teams. The fall season features three home meets at Panorama Farms, in addition to the ACC Championships, NCAA Regional Championships, ECAC/IC4A Championships and NCAA Championships.

The Cavaliers will begin the year at home, running in the Lou Onesty Open on Friday, Sept. 9. The first road trip follows on Friday, Sept. 30, when Virginia heads to the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa.

The third-annual Panorama Farms Invitational will take place on Oct. 14 and will prepare the Cavaliers for the ACC Championships, being held at Clemson on Oct. 29.

Following the conference meet, Virginia will return home to close out the regular season with the annual Cavalier Invitational on Nov. 4.

The NCAA Regional Championships will be held in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 12, while the ECAC/IC4A Championships are scheduled for Van Cortlandt Park in New York City on Nov. 19. Virginia will look to conclude the season at the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.

Last year, the Cavalier men finished 17th at the national meet, while the women – the 2010 NCAA Southeast Region Champions – claimed 21st.
