Brightwell and Rosen Place Second at Collegiate Team Championship

Dahlonega, GA – Virginia’s duo of Elizabeth Brightwell (Nellysford, Va.) and Portland Rosen (Sugar Land, Texas) tied for runner up honors at the second annual Women’s Collegiate Team Championships at Achasta, By Reynolds. Using a team stroke format during Thursday’s final round, the duo combined to shoot even par 144 and finished the three-day event at 11-under 277.

Lindsey Solberg and Carolina Powers of Michigan State took top honors at 12-under 276. Marina Alex and Lauren Stratton of Vanderbilt tied the Cavalier duo for second place.

There were a total of 55 two-player teams that competed in the mixed format event. The opening round featured alternate shot play while the second round used best ball to determine the team score.

Both Brightwell and Rosen will be sophomores at Virginia this season.
