Robison Takes Third in 100 Free, Naurath Advances to 800 Free Final

STANFORD, Calif. – Former Virginia swimmer Scot Robison highlighted day four of the ConocoPhillips U.S. National Championships with a third-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle, as the event continued Friday. The meet concludes Saturday at the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, Calif.
Robison touched in 49.06, improving on his prelim time of 49.25. Peter Geissinger swam in the bonus final of the event and recorded a 30th-place finish in 51.27.
Rachel Naurath, a rising sophomore, began the day by earning a spot in the consolation final of the 200-meter butterfly, where she would finish 14th in 2:11.90. She also grabbed the last spot into the final of the 800-meter freestyle (8:41.63), which will be contested during the last session on Saturday night.
Incoming first-year Alison Haulsee swam in the 200-meter butterfly final on Friday and placed ninth in 2:11.96. Classmate Ellen Williamson was 28th in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:17.63.
The fifth and final day of the ConocoPhillips National Championships is set for Saturday. Preliminaries begin at 12 p.m. Eastern (9 a.m. Pacific) with finals scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern (6 p.m. Pacific). All sessions will be webcast live at www.usaswimming.org/nationals.
