Mitchell Frank is Runner-Up at USTA 18s Championship

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Incoming Virginia men’s tennis player Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.) was the runner-up at the 2011 USTA Boys’ 18s National Championship. As runner-up, Frank receives a wild card into qualifying at this year’s US Open.

Frank, the No. 2 seed in the draw, won six matches to reach the final. Four of the wins were in straight sets. In the final, he fell to No. 1 seed and defending champion Jack Sock, 6-3, 6-0.

Frank is the second Cavalier to reach the Kalamazoo finals, joining Doug Stewart (2002).
