Wednesday was the first day of our 2011 season that the girls had the full college experience. Classes in the morning, practice in the afternoon, lift in U-Hall, dinner in JPJ then study hall. Welcome to the life of a college student-athlete! The team came into practice focused and fired up. We finally get to start working on our opponents and prepping the game plan. But as always, we start with fundamental work then build up to team systems and end with six vs. six drills. The Wednesday practices are usually our most intense. We train for the full 3 hours and set the ground work for the game plan we will implement on Thursday. There is a lot to learn: blocking schemes, defensive adjustments and offensive plans but our girls are always up to the task. We finally get to face someone else across the net and we’re ready.

Go ‘Hoos!
