Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia athletics department will present a new 30-minute installment of the popular “Building of a Program” Wednesday, Aug. 31 on Comcast SportsNet. The show, “Building of a Program – The Next Step” will premier at 9:30 p.m. and features an inside look at the UVa football program and head coach Mike London as the Cavaliers prepare for Saturday’s season opener against William & Mary.

In addition to the insightful behind-the-scenes access to the Cavalier team and stellar videography that are trademarks of the show, the episode will feature segments on UVa’s fall football camp, new support staff and their roles in the personal development of Virginia’s student-athletes, changes and planned improvements to the UVa football facilities and a look ahead to the William & Mary game.

“The building of a program is an on-going effort,” said Executive Associate Athletics Director Jon Oliver. “As we look forward to the start of the season, we thought it would be important to highlight some of the improvements that are taking place around the program and showcase the team’s preparation for its first game.”

The Virginia athletics department debuted “Building of the Program” in 2010 in support of London and the team’s preparation leading up to his first season as the Cavaliers’ head coach. A total of 18 episodes aired on regional cable television and were available online at VirginiaSportsTV.com.

“Building of a Program – The Next Step” will re-air on Comcast SportsNet Thursday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2 at 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.

The show will also be online at VirginiaSportsTV.com following its original cable broadcast.
