Charlottesville, VA – Cavalier Sports Weekly returns to the airwaves and moves to Saturdays for the 2011-2012 season. The popular weekly review of Virginia’s athletic teams will continue its tradition of utilizing Cavalier student-athletes as hosts. The first episode airs on Sept. 3 with fourth-year safety and football co-captain, Rodney McLeod hosting the show. In addition to airing on Saturdays for the first time in the program’s eight-year history, Cavalier Sports Weekly will now be available in high definition on Comcast SportsNet.

The Saturday, Sept. 3 program will feature a review of football training camp, and a preview of Virginia’s football home opener against William and Mary. Updates from the men’s and women’s soccer programs are included in the program, as well. A look back to the best performances of the spring, 2011 season, including the men’s lacrosse national championship will also be featured.

The programming schedule for Cavalier Sports Weekly is as follows:
Saturday, 9:30 a.m. WAHU-TV (FOX 27) – Charlottesville
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. Comcast SportsNet – Mid-Atlantic
Saturday, 11:00 a.m. WVAW-TV (ABC 16) – Charlottesville
Saturday, 11:30 a.m. WCAV-TV (CBS 19) – Charlottesville
