Former Cavaliers Row at World Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Two former Cavalier rowers, Nicole Dinion, a 2009 graduate, and Kerry Maher Shaffer, a 2007 graduate and first-team All-American, competed recently at the World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia.

Rowing with the United States’ women’s lightweight quad, Dinion and that crew won a bronze medal.

Maher Shaffer rowed with Canada’s double and won the ‘C’ final to finish 13th. Maher Shaffer is a two-time member of Canada’s Under-23 team and earned first team All-America honors in 2007 for Virginia.
