Assistant Media Relations Director

Tom Fenstermaker has been an assistant athletics media relations director at Virginia since September 2011 and is the primary contact for the volleyball, cross country, rowing and track & field programs.
Before arriving at UVa, Fenstermaker, a native of Gaithersburg, Md., spent three years at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he worked with the volleyball, swimming and diving, cross country, track and field and baseball programs and assisted with men’s lacrosse. Fenstermaker also oversaw the video production department at UMBC and was the head statistician for men’s and women’s basketball and women’s lacrosse.

Fenstermaker graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2008. He worked for two years in the athletics communications department at UMBC as an undergrad.
