Burlington, ONT – Former Virginia men’s golfer Kyle Stough (Laurel, Md. ) earned his playing card for the Canadian Professional Golf Tour by finishing fifth at the organization’s annual Qualifying School at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, Ontario.

Stough was one of seven players to secure full exempt playing privileges for 2012 on the Canadian Tour. In 2011 the Canadian Professional Tour hosted 14 tournaments

Stough shot 10-under 274 during the four round qualifying event. He was the top American finisher in the field. Stough got off to a slow start, shooting 73 in the opening round before rebounding with scores of 67, 66 and 68 over the final 54 holes.

Stough was a four-year letterwinner for the Cavaliers from 2007 to 2010.
