CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia rowing team and head coach Kevin Sauer announced the 2011 fall schedule Tuesday (Sept. 27). The ‘Hoos will compete in three regattas, concluding with the annual Rivanna Romp at the Rivanna Reservoir in Charlottesville, Va., on Sunday, Nov. 13.

“The fall is mainly for training, but it’s a good way to assess where we’re at,” Sauer said. “For the kids, they love to race and this is what’s it’s all about.”

The 11-time ACC Champions will begin their fall campaign at the prestigious Head of the Charles in Boston on Oct. 23 with three crews competing, two in Championship Eights and one in Championship Fours.

The full Cavalier squad will take part in both the Princeton Chase on Oct. 30 in Princeton, N.J., and the Rivanna Romp.

UVa finished sixth at the 2011 NCAA Championships and swept all four races for the second-consecutive year to earn its 11th ACC crown.
